I have been involved in Education and teaching and training in some capacity for over two decades. I have a Bachelor’s degree with a double major in English and Religion, a Master’s degree in Missiology, and a Master’s degree in Secondary Education with a focus in English Language Arts. I have worked in public schools as a teacher, I have worked as a writing tutor on the university level, and I have worked in the private sector as a copy editor, supervisor, manager, server, and countless other jobs. I work to bring real life experiences and applications into my tutoring. It is easier to remember and learn skills when you are able to see real life applications in what you are learning.

I am able to tutor any aspect of English, but my strengths are in grammar and writing. I have taught both AP Literature and AP Language, as well as every level of high school English. I am also able to tutor in religious studies.

One of the aspects of tutoring that I really love is being able to work one on one with the students. In a classroom setting you have to work with 30 students at a time, so you aren't able to really make sure that each student is understanding the lesson and the skill being taught. With tutoring you have the opportunity to work with the student until he/she understands and grasps the concept fully. My goal in teaching is to make sure the student has the mastery of a concept and is not just memorizing facts or formulas. I try to be as informal as possible with a lot of questions and answers, while still holding high academic standards and pushing for excellence in the work that is created.

My schedule is pretty flexible, and I respond quickly. Contact me, and we can get your tutoring session set up ASAP.

He helped a lot! Great writing teacher for teenagers

He talked about the problems of my son's writing habit like poor vocabulary and misunderstanding of readings. I think if my son keeps meeting him his writing skills and thinking skills can be improved.

The most impatient, unprofessional, and disrespectful tutor I've met on here

Prior to meeting with this tutor, I've already explicitly stated that my daughter has a slight language delay, yet has no intellectual or social issues. Upon meeting with him, he asked for my daughter's name. She responded multiple times, but he didn't seem to hear and said something along the lines of, "What? Your name is nothing?" His problematic attitude and impatience also showed in his teaching and the exercises he gave her. In the first topic, he told her to write a paragraph, and when she only wrote three sentences due to the fact she lacks in writing, he became irritated because she didn't fulfill his requirements. Despite this, he didn't provide constructive feedback to what she wrote, saying that one of her sentences was not a sentence, yet didn't tell her how to correct it. He proceeded to give her a new topic to write about about her favorite things, and when my daughter said she didn't know how to write what her favorite food or drink was, he expressed verbal discontent at this. By this point, my daughter was also noticeably unhappy with how impatient this tutor has been acting. Overall, he seemed less interested in engaging the child's interest in writing and more focused on subtly putting her down.
