Hi, I'm Eric! I graduated cum laude with a B.S. in chemistry from SUNY Fredonia. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do after that, so I applied and was accepted into a PhD program at UC Davis. Hi, I'm Eric! I graduated cum laude with a B.S. in chemistry from SUNY Fredonia. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do after that, so I applied and was accepted into a PhD program at UC Davis. During my first year there I took classes, did research on anti-cancer drugs and taught freshmen chemistry labs. That was when I found out how much I loved teaching. I transferred to CSU Sacramento and got my teaching credential. While in graduate school I made sure I had enough coursework to get credentialed in chemistry, physics, and math.

My first job was as a math teacher in 1998, but went on to teach honors chemistry, AP chemistry, and AP physics during my 23 years teaching in California. In 2021 my wife & I decided to retire in the middle of COVID and bought a mini farm in rural Kentucky.

In 2023 I decided to take a one-year teaching position in a small village of about 600 on the Aleutian peninsula in Alaska. I loved it so much, the following year I moved to an even more remote village with only around 80 people to a K-12 school with 23 students total. I taught math and science to eleven 6th through 12th graders. After that experience, my wife said no more to remote Alaska and we moved back to Kentucky.

I still have a desire to teach and help students with math and science, so here I am. I have a total of 25 years total teaching math from pre-algebra through AP calculus and pretty much every science class offered in U.S. high schools but have only taught chemistry and physics at the AP level.

I am also a veteran. I served over 30 years in the U.S. Army, active, Guard, & Reserves, as a helicopter mechanic, medic, environmental science officer, and medical operations officer including two year-long deployments to the Middle East after 9/11.

Ultimately, I just love teaching and helping people get excited and gain confidence and I want to help people improve their lives and go on to be successful. Let me help you!
