Public Speaking

At UK, I designed my own major - Voice and Speech for Theatre. While there, I served as a speech, diction, and dialect coach on several productions. Since then, I've conducted seminars as well as private coaching sessions on delivery of both prepared speeches as well as off-the-cuff addresses at professional dinners, including one-on-one sessions with a president of the Louisville, Lexington, and National Association of Home Builders. I was also a guest lecturer for Public Speaking courses at McKendree University, and taught breathing and relaxation exercises, as well as diction tips. I'm an audiobook narrator, and I served as Dialect Coach on the independent film, Nice Guys Sleep Alone.

Reading

I have years of experience tutoring reading. I have worked with students of all ages, but most recently with a 1st grader whose reading skills improved significantly in a very short time.

Theater

I have many years of theatre experience, as a coach, teacher, and director. At UK, I taught theatre and speech, as an undergraduate and post-graduate student. I also served as a speech, diction, and dialect coach on several UK productions. After college, I taught theatre classes at the Ursuline School of Music and Drama, and was recruited to teach and direct at Sacred Heart Academy. I also spent three years running the Children's Theatre program at the Little Colonel Playhouse in Pewee Valley.

Writing

I have many years of experience as a teacher and tutor of many subjects, including reading and writing. I currently do freelance proofreading and editing work as well.
