I returned to college later in life but have always had a passion for learning. I graduated magna cum laude in December 2013. While attending Georgia Gwinnett College, I was the recipient of the college's highest honor, Outstanding Student Leadership Award for 2012. I volunteered as a tutor and mentor for my fellow classmates, as well as a note taker for handicapped classmates who were not able to do so on their own.

I am a bit of a perfectionist (at least toward my own endeavors) and expect my students to try their best without excuses. I have a grown son (he is 25) who had a learning disability and I worked long hours right along with him to help him graduate from EMT school. History, political science, and other humanities are my specialty. I will do my very best to make sure you have the tools and information to write great papers and learn the material. I am patient and easy to get along with.

I like to look at subjects from several different perspectives and often play devil's advocate to get the most out of my students. I am a self published fiction author and have been called a walking thesaurus. I love to read and write. I want to teach others to appreciate the words of others, and, ultimately their own.

I unequivocally LOVE history! To me, it is a story that never ends. Political science and pop culture are significant facets of history, often acting as a lens through which history can be viewed, making it less dry and (dare I say) fun. I like to know why and how more than the exact dates of major historical events.

I am fair but tough. I am not the type of tutor whose goal is to only have you earn an "A." My goal is for you learn the material with an open mind and become a critical thinker.
