Hello, I'm Benjamin! I graduated with an Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Louisville in 2025. I began my college career at the University of Alabama in Huntsville studying Aerospace Engineering, but soon learned that my true passion is social studies and the humanities. I realized that classroom engagement centered on an enriched discussion-style learning environment that helped students better retain the subject. I've found that it is more helpful to have an involved discussion of the subject, rather than simply having students memorize basic data they'll forget after their first quiz. I incorporate this style in my lessons, but am also open to adjustments based on the needs of each individual student.
I first began tutoring while in high school. I taught math to elementary and middle school to make a little spending cash. Soon, though, I began to love being able to help students retain the information long-term (as well as help them pass upcoming exams). My collegiate courses for my Associate Degree and ongoing Bachelor's have helped to inform my teaching style for my favorite subjects: History, Government, and Geography. I want to bring a passion to these subjects that encourage students to learn more about these areas.
