Hi, my name is Joe. I'm friendly and engaging. I'm married and have two daughters, 7 and 5. I worked as an analyst for 13 years, specializing in special project management, application development, and technical problem solving. I was recently a Data Quality Analyst with Citigroup after starting with them as a Business Analyst in 2009. However, I've stepped away from the cubicle life and I'm currently a freelance artist. I do portrait commissions, photography and most uniquely, chalk art. I have loved meeting and working with amazing people. I've been invited to art festivals across the country. I have a broad range of interests and genuinely enjoy helping and sharing with other people what I've learned.
I was a camp counselor and lifeguard for 5 summers with campers from 8 to 16. My original major in college was Secondary Education. I took many psychology and education classes, as well as one semester of student teaching in a high school. I tutored part time in college, most commonly helping students with writing or math. I founded a local photography club and take pride in helping people acquire new skills.
I took a range of advanced math courses in college, including Calculus 1, 2 and 3. I enjoy math and problem solving. I keep my math skills fresh with online courses.
I took drawing 1 & 2, life drawing, and oil painting in college. I have completed hundreds of paid portrait commissions. My most common media is black and white charcoal on tinted paper. I'm an award winning chalk artist and featured as a professional artist at street painting festivals across the country.
I'm self taught in Adobe products, including Photoshop and Lightroom. I would consider myself an expert user and have an extensive portfolio.
I consider myself a top level Microsoft Excel and Access user, but I think that there will always be more I can learn. I have ten years of experience writing macros in VBA. I have won unofficial Excel competition challenges within Citigroup that included top analysts around world.
I have 6 years of experience regularly creating SQL scripts to include in business projects. I'm most familiar with Oracle style syntax (including SQL+ scripting).
That's me. I hope I can help you learn and accomplish everything you want. Hi, my name is Joe. I'm friendly and engaging. I'm married and have two daughters, 7 and 5. Joe has great experience in Excel. He followed up quickly and was great to work with. I would recommend Joe as a very experienced EXCEL tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I took many art classes in college 15 years ago, including Drawing 1, 2, & 3(life drawing), and painting. Since then I've continued to draw recreationally. In 2011 I started to sell original work and accept drawing commissions. My focus has been on portraits and people, but I've also done landscapes, architecture, and pets. I'm also an award winning chalk artist and have been a featured artist at chalk festivals across the country.
I've used Microsoft Access for nearly 20 years. I was a Business Analyst for 13 years, most of that time spent in the financial sector, including 6 years at Citigroup. I built up a reputation as a "guru" and was sought out by co-workers at my site and around the world.
I'm especially familiar with complex VBA and SQL. I'm able to make sense and decipher overly complex legacy databases. I'm also trained and very experienced in interface and workflow design. I have a personal Office 365 subscription. I use it for my own projects and stay up to date on the latest MS Access features.
I have over 15 years of experience working with Microsoft Excel. I have helped hundreds of friends, family, and co-workers learn everything from basic introductions to the most advanced techniques and buried properties. I have worked in both small businesses and global corporations. I can show and describe how to make professional looking reports, dynamic dashboards, interactive forms, and much more. I know the vital basics a beginner will need to understand and can teach extremely complex macro programming to help adept users take their work to a new level.
I bought a DSLR camera and have taken my photography seriously for 4 years. I do paid commissions including weddings, senior portraits, business headshots, and commercial photography. I'm a very technical person and have spent a lot of time learning and practicing photography. I've also used photography for creative expression. I founded and have been running a local photography club since June 2013.
I took Computer programming classes in college. I've been creating custom macros for MS Office products, which uses Visual Basic for Applications, for 13 years. I've learned many best practices and have created some very sophisticated applications and scripts. I've also worked with VB for fun, creating a QBASIC Gorillas game, maze generator, and interactive BI dashboards. I worked at Citigroup for 6 years and I was often sought out by other developers and analysts to help with complex macro-related problems.
