Hello, I'm Tera - Your dedicated study buddy :) I specialize in study skills, executive functioning, and the basics of social and emotional support. I was blessed to be a homeschooling parent to a gifted and talented child. Additionally, I can empathize with the challenges of being an adult non-traditional college student. Professionally, I am a certified educational life coach, youth mentor, and licensed real estate agent.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from Spalding University's School of Professional Psychology in Louisville, KY, graduating summa cum laude, with highest distinction. I am one of four recipients of the 2022 Mental Health America KY Chapter Scholarship, and 2022 Spalding University School of Professional Psychology's Sister Agnes Lucile Raley Distinguished Undergraduate Award.
When tutoring, my approach is that of a mentoring and academic one. Oftentimes we lack the social and emotional support needed to help us thrive academically. I am very excited to work together and help you pursue your goals. As a student of psychology, youth mentor, former homeschooling parent, and substitute teacher, I've learned that there are many tools available to help ease and navigate some of the social, emotional, and academic challenges children and adult learners face. Being knowledgeable of these tools can help alleviate stressors in the classroom and day to day tasks.
