Hi, I am Lucy! I strive to ensure that my students’ goals for learning are met on time and in the most professional and efficient manner possible. I will always listen to you and implement tutoring sessions in ways that are easy, productive and fun. We will start and finish on time.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts and Speech and a master’s degree in Legal Studies and International Law. During these programs, I mastered the English language in all its forms: speaking, writing, researching topics, forming essays, writing documents and engaging in lively discussions about a wide range of topics. A Voice and Diction class during undergraduate school helped me develop good verbal communication skills. This is particularly important for international students who have dialect and accent challenges too! I became a person on a mission to have global command of English reading, writing and speech so I could impart my knowledge to the international community.

My tutoring experience began with teaching elder adults how to navigate basic computer applications during private, one-hour lessons. In addition, I taught Microsoft Word and Excel in classroom settings to broader audiences. During my 11 years in higher education, I collaborated with students as we wrote, edited and proofread grant submissions, scientific papers and higher education textbook entries. My students were primarily refugees or asylum seekers with basic knowledge of the English language. I worked with many different nationalities. I was honored to help them integrate into their American educational environments and communities by providing one-on-one ESL tutoring on demand.
