I’ve spent over 20 years tutoring and teaching across disciplines including art, creative writing, chess, music theory, and philosophy. My academic background includes degrees in science and philosophy (Indiana University), an MA in the humanities (Holy Apostles College), and a postgraduate certificate from the Institute of Critical Thinking. I’ve taught college students at Sullivan University and Holy Apostles, served as a substitute teacher and tutor through Kelly Services in Clark County, Indiana, and led art and music development programs for children and adults through Kentucky Mental Health Care. I’ve instructed chess at GetWell Recovery, martial arts at PRO Martial Arts in New Albany, Indiana, and tai chi at the Shanren Academy and Louisville Tai Chi Society. My creative credentials include writing forewords and editing for published authors, being featured as a speaker at the American Philosophical Association, and leading expressive arts workshops in partnership with the Louisville Zoo and the Goodall Gallery.
As a coach with the Cycle of Success Institute and founder of Dialectic Method Therapy, I’ve worked with clients one-on-one and in small groups to develop personal voice, technical skill, and critical thinking across disciplines. I’ve privately tutored students in creative writing, music composition, and visual arts—from grade schoolers to professionals—always tailoring sessions to learning style and goals. Whether teaching classical drawing, helping a student sharpen logic through chess, or coaching writers toward publication, my sessions are results-driven and personalized.
