Hi I'm Jess! I'm a fourth-year medical student at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and will begin Emergency Medicine residency training at Johns Hopkins University this summer.

My educational background begins at the University of Missouri where I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Health Sciences. While applying to medical school, I had no prior experience with such intensive exams as the MCAT, and initially struggled to get the score that I wanted. After taking the MCAT the first time and scoring 506, I knew I needed better test-taking strategies. Just 3 weeks of only practice questions later, I took the MCAT a second time and scored 515! After my experience with the MCAT, I knew I needed to change my approach to questions and learn better test-taking strategies.

Teaching myself how to approach difficult exam questions has paid dividends on NBME shelf exams and USMLEs. On USMLE Step 1, I achieved a 253 (~85th percentile) and on USMLE Step 2, I scored 269 (96th percentile). I've taught myself how to "think like the question writer", and I'd love to help you do the same!

I'm happy to help tutor with pre-clinical medical school exams, NBME shelf exams, USMLE Step 1 & Step 2, personal statements, or other medical school content you may be struggling with!

After teaching myself better test-taking strategies, I performed in the 88-95th percentile on all NBME shelf subject exams, about 85th percentile on Step 1, and 96th percentile on Step 2 CK. I am in the top 10% of my graduating fourth-year class at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
