Hi! My name is Pooja, and I am about to be a third year medical student at the University of Louisville. I have been tutoring students since my junior year of undergrad. I used to work with Varsity Tutors, where I tutored a wide number of students, ranging from pre-K students to adults. I taught young children science experiments that they could perform at home to learn about basic science skills, older high school students Calculus AB and ACT prep, and adults speed reading and reading comprehension. I can tutor a wide range of topics, but English, Reading, and anything related to science and medicine (Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, etc) are my strong suits, especially as a medical student.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kentucky (summa cum laude). I then started medical school at U of L in the fall of 2021 and have passed all of my courses thus far. My ACT score from high school was a 36, and I scored in the 95th percentile for the MCAT and my board exams in Medical School as well. I am very interested in both clinical and bench-side research. In the past, I was a part of math, chemistry, and genome research. I was able to present my results from these research projects at multiple different national conferences, including the American Chemical Society Conference and NimBIOs conference. Currently, I am interested in neurology research, and I am conducting research in neuromuscular diseases and autism.
