As a special educator, I have been educated on ways to turn teaching around for kids facing challenges. I have had trainings and classes on different techniques to help subjects "stick". One of my favorite moments in teaching is when I see the light bulb come on when a student finally grasps a concept. I am very comfortable tutoring any subject in elementary, and also some subjects in middle and high school.
I have done well in math. It's always been something I've grasped pretty easily. Currently, I collaborate in math classes, and I work with the students who aren't understanding what is going on.
English is my favorite subject. In high school, I took honors and advanced English classes. Part of my current job is working on reading with my students. I do a lot of lessons in phonics, as well as comprehension. I also do a lot of writing lessons with my kids, making sure my students know the conventions of writing, and also spelling.
