Hello! My name is Victoria G. I am from London, Kentucky. I have both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Creative Writing. I tutored ESL, English, and Reading throughout my collegiate career (I tutored my fellow students one-on-one), and since graduating, I have worked with middle and high school students, providing feedback on essays for primarily English and Reading AP classes, but I have also helped with general education classes. I believe I helped with some history classes as well, if memory serves.

To tell you a bit more about myself, I'm a professional freelance editor with a certification in professional writing. I'm also a published author and poet, with several of my works floating around out there. I mainly edit and proofread for science fiction and fantasy authors, and I have about a dozen of their novels under my belt. I also have experience writing thorough book reviews as part of a popular book blog in which I focus heavily on content analysis, character creation, and character motivation.

The way I approach a session is pretty standard: I'll ask you what your primary goal for the day is, and we'll go from there. I believe in giving students the tools they need to succeed, not doing their work for them. I'm happy to provide examples, but I don't believe in simply editing a student's essay or work line by line and feeding them what to write. You don't get anything out of the session or your essay that way. At the end of the session, I'll ask you what you want to accomplish next time (if there is one and the student and parent are both happy with the session), and give you some tips on how to prepare. The main thing I want is YOUR success, not mine. I'm not here to lecture you, I'm here to help you polish up your work and make it the best it can be for your sake.

I think that's all the big stuff you need to know for now. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out. I am excited to work with you, and I look forward to meeting you!
