I am Lisa. I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky with a degree in English (Departmental Honors). After college I attended Law School at Washington University in St. Louis Missouri. I have always had a love of writing and research which led me to a degree in Library and Information Science also at the University of Kentucky. My teaching philosophy is geared toward: content mastery; creating engaged students who become engaged citizens; facilitating critical thinking and problem-solving skills; and self-directed learning. Ultimately, I am interested in empowering students to be confident in the skills they are building and to utilize those skills.
As a college student, I tutored children in reading and elementary math. After law school, I helped design a program to train soon to be law graduates on how to be guardians ad litem. In addition, I helped trained attorneys to be guardians ad litem and led CLE courses concerning the child witness and ethics. I am also currently training for my TOEFL certification.
