I love teaching and tutoring students, and I have 11 years of experience with a variety of subjects and levels (K-12, university, and graduate students). I am certified in Latin (grades K-12) and Social Studies (grades 6-12). I have taught in public and private schools, as well as at a university with undergraduate students and graduate students, and I have tutored over a hundred students.

As for subjects, I typically tutor Latin, ESL/EFL, writing, and ACT/SAT/GRE prep. Several of my Latin students have made perfect scores on the National Latin Exam, and most have scored top 20%. My test prep students have also increased their scores significantly, especially in English and writing. In addition, my writing students have typically improved their writing ability by a grade letter or more. I have had dozens of undergraduate students ask for my help with term papers, and I have also helped numerous students with application essays for college. Finally, I have tutored ESL/EFL students abroad and in the States--primarily adult learners from Korea, China, Sudan, Nigeria, Syria, Mexico, Italy, and Poland.

Regarding my degrees, I earned my BA in Latin and Greek and then an MA in Classics, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Latin Studies (I speak and write Latin). I also earned a Masters in Teaching World Languages and an MA in History. I'm now close to finishing my PhD in History, with a focus on the late Roman Empire in North Africa. I speak English and Latin well, Italian and Arabic at an intermediate level, and read and understand Ancient Greek, Spanish, French, and German--so I am used to working with language!
