About Anna

Bio

I graduated with honors from Earlham College in May 2015, earning degrees in Biochemistry and Politics. Later, in 2022, I received my Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Kentucky.

I have extensive experience in preparing students for chemistry and biology AP, IB, and Aice exams, and I have access to the IB question bank, past exams, and AP practice problems. I prepared material for tutoring IB with a newly updated syllabus (2023). I also offer help with Internal Assessment and...

Additionally, I am currently teaching anatomy and physiology at our local community college. I can tutor biochemistry, chemistry, biology, anatomy, physiology, and neuroscience.

I attended an IB high school in Canada, where I took Biology and Chemistry HL, History, and Math SL.

Biology is definitely my favorite subject. Understanding how our body works is exciting. Unfortunately to be able to understand and make connections a lot of material needs to be memorized. To make it easier I turn the concepts into stories. Learning about ion channels is a disco club story, learning abut heart and lung is a swimming story, and so on. I will help you find a way to remember and most importantly connect different concepts. I have taken IB higher level biology, and have completed classes in cellular and molecular biology, physiology, anatomy and genetics.

Chemistry is definitely my favorite subject. People struggle with fundamental concept because in most cases they seemed abstract, but there are actually not that abstract once explained well. I have tutored both high school and college level students, was teaching assistant for 3.5 years and worked one on one in academic enrichment center.
