I recently retired from the National Park Service (NPS) as a Park Ranger and Superintendent. As a Park Ranger, I spent the first 15 years of my career in charge of leading tours, conducting educational programs and giving formal evening programs to groups ranging in size from 50-400. I recently retired from the National Park Service (NPS) as a Park Ranger and Superintendent. As a Park Ranger, I spent the first 15 years of my career in charge of leading tours, conducting educational programs and giving formal evening programs to groups ranging in size from 50-400. I also spent 3 1/2 years as an NPS Instructor at a training academy. The last 15 years of my career was spent as a Superintendent at various NPS sites across the country. As a Superintendent, I was required to speak in front of employees, civic organizations, and legislators. In addition, I spoke at formal services and special events for audiences ranging in size from a couple of hundred to over a thousand.

In order to be successful at anything you do, it is important to be able to speak to people and to connect with them on a level that makes your presentation a success. I can help you learn how to do that in a very systematic way, and have found that the more you are prepared, the more comfortable you are. I can help you deal with any fears or concerns about speaking in front of others and help you create interesting and provocative presentations. You can get to the stage where you actually enjoy sharing information with others.

For over 30 years, I have worked in positions such as Park Ranger, Superintendent for National Park Service and Nonprofit Manager of a Kentucky based equine rescue, the Kentucky Equine Adoption Center. These positions have enabled me to become proficient in public speaking and career development in the government and Nonprofit workforce. I have spoken before groups of over 400 people, and developed financial support for projects from $50,000 and up. I can help people prepare for putting presentations together in any topic to achieve the results that they want.

I have 30+ years of public speaking experience and have prepared presentations and presented to audiences of up to 400+. These audiences range from elementary school children, adults, special community groups such as Rotary and Chamber of Commerce, and state and federal legislators. Presentations have focused on: natural and cultural history, special event commemorations, funding proposals, and job interviews. This subject will focus on: 1) How to prepare for public speaking 2) How to put a presentation together 3) Tips for conducting the different aspects of your presentation such as holding audience interest, staying on point, body language, dress, etc. 4) Information on how to deal with the jitters and how to effectively practice 5) How to know when you have been effective
