Hi, I’m Ansley! I earned my B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Kentucky and am a fourth-year medical student at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, graduating in May 2027. I scored a 268 on USMLE Step 2 CK and ranked in the 97th percentile nationally on the Surgery Shelf, 95th in Internal Medicine, 84th in OB/GYN, and 83rd in Pediatrics. I’m excited to help students reach their goals while keeping my clinical knowledge sharp and developing my teaching skills before residency.

Throughout medical school, I’ve informally tutored fellow medical students in individual and group study sessions. I’ve explained challenging topics, asked clinical reasoning questions, and helped classmates work through difficult material. My approach emphasizes active recall, question-based learning, and understanding why answers are right or wrong rather than memorizing facts. I tailor explanations to each student’s needs and aim to make complex concepts feel manageable.

Having recently taken Step 2 CK and completed my core clerkships, I understand the challenge of studying alongside clinical responsibilities. I’m especially interested in tutoring Step 2 CK and NBME Shelf exams, particularly Internal Medicine and Surgery. I also offer help with anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and brainstorming or editing medical school and residency personal statements. My goal is to create an encouraging, interactive environment where students build clinical reasoning skills, test-taking confidence, and a study strategy that works for them.

Anatomy

Anatomy

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Kentucky and am currently a fourth-year medical student at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. My undergraduate and medical education provided extensive training in human anatomy, including neuroanatomy, musculoskeletal anatomy, and the anatomical foundations of organ systems. Through clinical rotations, I have strengthened my understanding of how anatomical structures relate to physiology, disease processes, and patient care. I enjoy helping students understand complex anatomical relationships through clear explanations, active recall, and clinically relevant examples.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Kentucky and am currently a fourth-year medical student at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. During my earlier education, I participated in competitive essay writing and received awards at the school district level, demonstrating my longstanding interest in and aptitude for written communication. Throughout my undergraduate and medical education, I have continued developing my writing skills through academic coursework and personal statements for medical school applications. I enjoy helping students brainstorm ideas, construct compelling arguments, organize their essays, and refine their writing for clarity, grammar, and effectiveness while preserving their individual voice.
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Kentucky and am currently a fourth-year medical student at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. My undergraduate education provided an extensive foundation in neuroscience, including neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, cellular and molecular neuroscience, and the biological basis of behavior. Throughout medical school, I have further developed my understanding of the nervous system through coursework and clinical rotations, applying foundational neuroscience concepts to neurological diseases, diagnosis, and patient care. I enjoy helping students understand complex neurological pathways and mechanisms through clear explanations, active recall, and connections between basic science and clinical applications.
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

I am a fourth-year medical student at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine with extensive training in pharmacology through my preclinical coursework and clinical rotations. My medical education has emphasized understanding drug mechanisms of action, indications, contraindications, adverse effects, and clinically significant drug interactions. I scored a 268 on USMLE Step 2 CK, demonstrating a strong foundation in applying pharmacological knowledge to clinical scenarios and treatment decisions. I enjoy helping students understand the reasoning behind medication selection through active recall, clinical examples, and question-based learning rather than relying solely on memorization.
Physiology

Physiology

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Kentucky and am currently a fourth-year medical student at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. My undergraduate and medical education provided extensive training in human physiology, including cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, endocrine, gastrointestinal, and neurophysiology. I scored a 268 on USMLE Step 2 CK and ranked in the 95th percentile nationally on my Internal Medicine Shelf examination, reflecting my strong understanding of physiological principles and their clinical applications. Through informal peer tutoring, I have helped fellow medical students understand challenging concepts by breaking down complex mechanisms, connecting physiology to disease processes, and using active recall and question-based learning.

Knowledgable, patient, and excellent tour!

I had a great first session with Ansley while preparing for my Surgery NBME! She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely dedicated to helping her students succeed. What I appreciated most was her emphasis on test-taking strategies and clinical reasoning rather than simply memorizing the correct answers. She took the time to thoroughly explain each question and option, break down important concepts, and help me understand how to approach challenging NBME-style questions more effectively. I also found her teaching style very engaging and easy to follow, and I left the session feeling more confident in my approach to questions. I highly recommend Ansley to anyone preparing for their shelf exams!
