Hi! My name is Addison! I graduated from the University of Kentucky with undergraduate degrees in Biology and Neuroscience, along with a minor in Classics. I am currently a student at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
Throughout my undergraduate and medical school education, I have developed a strong appreciation for the importance of finding a study strategy that works for each individual student. There is no single right way to learn, and I enjoy helping students identify how they learn best and then using that approach to make challenging material more manageable.
During undergrad, I worked as a tutor through a scholarship program at the University of Kentucky. I primarily worked one-on-one with college students, but I also led small-group tutoring sessions throughout the year. Through this program, I developed important tutoring skills, including how to provide guidance and support without simply giving students the answer.
My goal as a tutor is to help students become confident problem-solvers rather than simply helping them get through one assignment or exam. Sometimes a student doesn't need someone to give them the answer. They just need the right question or a little encouragement to help them work through it themselves. I try to create that kind of supportive environment in my tutoring sessions.
Whether you are struggling with a difficult concept, preparing for an exam, or trying to figure out how to study more effectively, I would love to help!
