I’m currently a senior at the University of Kentucky, double majoring in chemistry and biology with a minor in math, and I’m on the pre-med track. I’ve worked as a teaching assistant for organic chemistry, where I helped lead review sessions, explained complex mechanisms in a simple way, and supported students in developing critical problem-solving skills. I also work in a biomedical research lab focused on Alzheimer’s disease, which gives me hands-on experience with real-world science that I love bringing into tutoring sessions.
I’ve been tutoring informally for several years and have experience working with students ranging from high school to college. I know that chemistry can be intimidating at first, so I always focus on making the material approachable. I break down concepts into manageable pieces, emphasize intuitive understanding over memorization, and adapt my style based on the student’s pace and goals. Whether someone needs help mastering stoichiometry, mechanisms, or exam prep, I aim to create a calm and supportive environment that builds confidence as well as knowledge.
Outside of the classroom, I volunteer at the local children’s hospital and direct a nonprofit that supports elderly individuals without family nearby, so I’m no stranger to patience and communication. I believe the best tutoring happens when students feel heard, respected, and encouraged to ask questions. I’d love to help you or your student succeed in chemistry and actually enjoy learning along the way.
