Hi, I'm Aaron. I received a BS in Biology and a BA in History, as well as an MA in Teaching. I have been using my education professionally as a high school teacher for 9 years. While I was a classroom teacher for 8 years, I have since worked full time in a high school as a support teacher for students with learning disabilities and/or ADHD, and I love every second of my job. I discovered my love of teaching when I was in school myself, leading study sessions for my classmates and friends. I got my first taste of understanding WHY a student might not grasp a concept and the joy that comes with bridging that gap.
In my current role as an academic support tutor, my job revolves around discovering knowledge gaps in students. Sometimes students struggle to learn in a particular classroom environment. Some students are expected to learn on their own but may need someone to help them parse the content. Maybe a student needs material presented in a way that best suits their learning needs. Working with students with learning disabilities through my career has given me ample experience with the various ways students learn. My goal for every student is that I can provide the support they need to succeed in their classes, whatever they may be.
While my education is in Biology and History, my career has turned me into a multidisciplinary tutor. Every day I am expected to reinforce chemistry lessons, help with Algebra II homework, edit English papers and coach writing, help students dissect passages from historical texts, and whatever else comes before me. I love helping high school students thrive in their studies, regardless of their ability or circumstances. Reach out and let's see how I can help!
