I have been teaching for 15 years in science and math in grades 6-12. I even taught kindergarten one year. My experience includes private, Catholic and public schools. I have tutored on occasion but not full time. I enjoy working with students and feel strongly about education. But I want learning to be enjoyable and not a burden. I believe I can help students understand tasks that may be troublesome by providing a fresh perspective or a different approach.

I enjoy the one-on-one aspect of tutoring and the freedom to pace the learning according to the student's ability. I like the idea of varying the delivery of lessons such as use of computers, websites and other resources. I believe I could be an asset to students as a tutor and would appreciate the opportunity to try.
I have a strong understanding of low level math and of algebra thus feel I would be successful in helping a student learn concepts and hopefully elevate math anxiety.
My knowledge of the sciences and my love and interest of science. My high school science classes and my teacher lead me to earn a BS in biology in college and fueled a desire to teach. I loved chemistry lab especially and I taught ACT prep classes which allowed us to inform students of testing strategies that I was not afforded in my ACT days.
I have experienced my own struggles with school and believe that maybe just having someone to help with studies and topics on an individual basis will bring about small achievements that will lead to larger successes.
