I started my academic career at Stratford Academy in Macon, Georgia, where I graduated with high honors and earned a 780 on the Math section of the SAT and a 1480 overall. After Stratford, I attended Emory University, where I graduated from the Goizueta Business School with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a concentration in Finance. Throughout my academic journey, I developed a strong foundation in mathematics, problem-solving, and analytical reasoning. Over the past several years, I have also tutored students in SAT Math, ACT Math, and Geography.
My tutoring experience has included working one-on-one with students of varying skill levels and helping them better understand the material while also building their confidence. My teaching approach focuses on breaking difficult concepts into simpler, more manageable ideas. Rather than encouraging students to simply memorize formulas, I help them recognize patterns and understand the reasoning behind each problem. Once a concept has been mastered, I ask students to explain their thought process to me and then challenge them with alternate versions of the problem so they learn how to apply the concept in different situations. I also believe in creating a stress free learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their own problem-solving abilities.
My primary goal is not only to help students master the material, whether it be the ACT, SAT, or another subject, but also to help them develop confidence that extends beyond the classroom. I encourage students to send homework assignments, practice tests, or specific problems they are struggling with at least 24–48 hours before each session. This allows me to prepare personalized explanations and examples so we can make the most of our time together.
