Awesome

I have been speaking Japanese for 10+ years and needed to brush up on my Japanese ability for a job interview. Kenji was extremely quick to respond and very easy to work with. Absolutely recommended with no reservations whatsoever.

Kenji is a great tutor!

I am a beginner Japanese student and Kenji is a fun and patient tutor. I feel more confident with my skills after every lesson. I will continue to get lessons with him as long as he is available!

Wonderful and patient teacher

My son is enjoying his Japanese lessons with Kenji S. very much. Kenji is very good at tailoring lessons to the individual student and challenging them while keeping it fun and interesting. I am amazed at how much my son knows after only a few lessons. I would highly recommend Kenji S. to anyone wanting to learn Japanese.

Anne, thank you for your feedback and your son is such a hardworking individual which makes our lessons fun. I believe he is improving week by week and always look forward to a next lesson. Thank you again!

Probably a good teacher for intermediate +

Kenji was easy to get a hold of, fast to respond, and easy to set up an appointment with. However, I mentioned before having him over that I was a complete beginner and needed to be started at a very low level and that the reason I decided to get a tutor is because I didn't know where to start. I also listed all materials I had available to me and noted that I could get others if needed. Yet when he got to my house he kept asking what I wanted to work on, and eventually we spent most of our time reading the hiragana and katakana tables. I was really expecting a structured lesson but that was about the opposite. All and all he seemed like a nice and knowledgeable guy. I would not recommend him if you're a beginner, but if you're intermediate maybe he could help you better?

Tutor responded:

Brandon, sorry our lesson was not structured well and although it was such a short notice, that was my fault. Now, I am more familiar with the book, "Genki" and teaching a beginner 3 times a week so should be able to do a better job if you can give me another opportunity. If not, I hope you keep studying by yourself or find a good tutor and speak Japanese fluently someday. Thank you for taking my lesson and hopefully, see you again!

Great tutor -- Very kind, patient and always on time.

Our daughter is very nervous when meeting new people. She has only had 3 sessions with Kenji so far, but she trusts him and enjoys her sessions. We plan to continue tutoring through Kenji for the foreseeable future. Our daughter really wants to become fluent in Japanese and live in Japan someday.

Bobbi, Thank you for your feedback and I enjoy her sessions too! I look forward to the next lesson and hope she is feeling better now. Thank you again and talk to you later! Kenji
