I'm a college professor, and I train new instructors all the time. There are a few critical things that effective teachers need to do, and Nick S. exhibited all of these traits during our lessons. 1) He was punctual, courteous, and cracked some jokes - essential teacher skills! 2) He allowed the lessons to shift and evolve as he better understood my needs, and was gracious even when I asked that we pivot in a new unexpected direction that I wanted to explore. (Some teachers get flustered going off the "lesson plan", but not Nick.) 3) He paused frequently to invite feedback or questions. 4) Finally, if he didn't know something, he said "I don't know, I'll look it up and get back to you." And then he followed through on his promise! For example, I was interested in using AI to automate some of my workflow in Premiere, and after our class ended he tracked down a plug-in and emailed me the info. I almost chose the highest-cost Premiere Pro tutor, just to make sure I had the best experience possible, but it really couldn't have gone better than learning with Nick S.

Excellent Premiere Pro Tutor
I hired Nick to help me get oriented with Adobe Premiere Pro, and the session exceeded my expectations. He is an excellent teacher - clear, patient, and very good at breaking down complex concepts in a way that actually makes sense. He quickly identified where I was getting stuck and helped me work through issues efficiently without making the process feel overwhelming. What a find! Working with Nick is everything I wanted and more. I am self-taught on the editing system I am using, and was stuck with many technical issues. He understood exactly what I needed, explained best practices, and demonstrated some editing techniques that I was unfamiliar with, which will save me hours and hours of work. And, this was only the beginning. Much more to learn, and I am looking forward to every minute of it! He is extremely patient and knowledgeable; one thing that particularly impressed me was that this was not "top-down" teaching. It felt more like a real partnership, and for that I am extremely grateful!

Learning After Effects can be pretty intimidating. But Nick does an awesome job of explaining everything and breaking it all down into easy to follow steps. Plus - he approaches it all from an editor's viewpoint. And that has been extremely helpful to me. Nick is also a great guy who is very patient and easy to work with. I would highly recommend Nick for anyone who is looking to advance their skills!!
