Hello, my name is Brittany H.
I have been working with children and students for many years. I graduated from Morehead State University, in December of 2011, with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education. I have three years experience working in preschool. I will also be starting as a paraeducator for the 2014-2015 school year. Working with students is my passion.
I was almost always an A & B student, but it wasn't easy. I always struggled in school. I was always a very quite child and would just sit and try to focus in class. Learning as an adult that the reason for my struggles is having ADD, so many things make more sense now. Because, I was that quite child and not bouncing around, no one ever thought ADD was even a possibility. Now, being an adult and still continuing my own education, I have learned several strategies to help myself.
I give you this example, from my own life, because I believe it allows me to connect with so many students that are struggling. I know the frustrations, and the benefit of having someone believe in you and give you the extra help and push that you sometimes need.
It will be my pleasure to work with you and your student.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
