I am a professional teacher with 2 years experience in the public school sector. I taught high school students the following subjects: American Literature, World Literature, and composition. For the past four years, I have been an instructor for the Wisconsin Fresh Start Program--a federally funded program that helps at-risk youth obtain their high school diploma. I teach all subject areas including math, reading, writing, social studies, science, civics, and health. Although I am proficient in all subjects, my specialties are reading, writing, and math. I am fluent in fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, algebra, and geometry. The individuals I work with in this program come in with very low basic skills(math and reading). Most are functioning at or below 7th grade level. When they are completed with our program, most of them pass all of the tests to get their GEDs. I evaluate my student's learning styles, and I always find a way to make learning fun and understandable.
