Hi, I’m Ms. Jessica!
I am a certified elementary educator with 4 years of classroom teaching experience and 2 years of tutoring experience outside of the classroom. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Elementary Education from Western Kentucky University, and I also obtained my certification in Gifted Education for grades K-12. My background in both general and gifted education has given me experience working with students across a wide range of academic abilities and learning styles.
Over the years, I have worked with general education students, gifted students, students with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, visual impairments, and ESL/ESOL learners. These experiences have taught me that every student learns differently, and one of my greatest strengths as an educator is adapting instruction to fit each student’s individual needs while helping them build confidence and independence.
My primary teaching experience has been in elementary Science, Writing, and Math, but I also tutor reading, phonics, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, study skills, and test preparation for exams such as the ACT, ASVAB, and Praxis. I enjoy helping students strengthen foundational skills while also developing organization, critical thinking, and confidence in the classroom.
My tutoring style focuses on relationship building and creating a calm, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking academic risks. I break difficult concepts into manageable steps, use clear explanations and real-world examples, and adjust instruction based on each student’s pace and learning style. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them become confident, independent learners who feel capable of success.
I genuinely enjoy helping students grow and would love the opportunity to support your child’s learning journey. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to discuss your student’s individual needs!
