I am a junior chemistry major at Berea College with a strong academic record, consistently earning top grades in challenging courses such as Organic Chemistry I & II, General Chemistry I & II, Analytical Chemistry, Microbiology, and Physics I & II, all of which include rigorous lab components. My academic success reflects not only my deep understanding of these subjects but also my ability to break down complex concepts into digestible, relatable explanations, a skill I’ve honed through tutoring peers and mentoring younger students.

Over the past two years, I have tutored high school and college students in chemistry, biology, and math, both one-on-one and in small group settings. My approach focuses on identifying individual learning styles and tailoring explanations to meet each student’s needs, whether through visual aids, step-by-step problem-solving, or real-world applications. For example, I worked with a high school student struggling with stoichiometry, and by using practical examples and interactive problem-solving, they improved their test scores by two letter grades within a month. Additionally, I’ve volunteered as a mentor for first-year students at Berea College, helping them navigate challenging coursework while fostering confidence and independent learning skills.

I am passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals, and my experience working with high-achieving students has equipped me to support learners at all levels. Whether guiding students through foundational concepts or preparing them for advanced coursework, I strive to create an engaging and supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity and growth.
