I am well-qualified in both areas and my industrial experience includes being a Research Officer in the textile industry, a Quality Assurance Chemist in the electroplating industry as well as being a Lecturer in Applied Science in a college of Science and Technology for over ten years. I am a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and also a Chartered IT Practitioner with the British Computer Society. I became registered as a lecturer away back in August 1975 and have a vast amount of experience of various teaching styles compatible with students' specific needs. These styles include one-to-one tutoring for special-needs students, team-teaching for classes split up into small groups, and also lecturing to an audience of over a hundred people. My method of teaching is based very much on first getting to know my students or audience personally and understanding their needs. Then I create a lesson plan for them, structured to meet their individual goals. I focus a lot on 'visual' explanations when describing subject concepts and have found this to be of great help to many students who have been having ongoing conceptual difficulties with their studies for a long time.
