Hello! I'm Kerri. I've tutored students in reading, writing, and math for 17 years. Tutoring is about skills mastery and more. My goal is for students to not only learn the subject matter but to discover that yes, they CAN read, write, and calculate, and it might even be fun! I customize each lesson to meet each student's interests and needs, and I use games and critical thinking activities to develop a student's love of and independence in learning.

I have a bachelor's degree in interpersonal communication and a master's in special education; I graduated with honors in both. In addition to my tutoring experience, I was a licensed special education teacher for students with multiple disabilities ages 5-21 for seven years.

I have a master's degree in special education and nine years of experience working with children with autism, seven of those years as a teacher. I tutored a young girl with autism for six months using the Greenspan and Lovaas methods. I traveled the state of Kansas for three years as a consultant to special education professionals who worked with children with various disabilities, including autism.

I am trained in Alphabetic Phonics and have two years of experience tutoring various students. I have graduate training and experience in working with students ages 5-21 with a variety of disabilities, including dyslexia and learning disabilities. My nine years of teaching and tutoring experience involved creating individualized lessons for students with a variety of needs, skills, and interests.

I have training in Alphabetic Phonics. I've tutored individual students as well as small groups. I use my teaching experience in special education to plan and adapt lessons based on a child's specific needs and interests.
