Hi! I'm Miss S. Yes, that's my real last name. Pretty great teacher name, right?
I'm a licensed Kansas teacher with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a Master's degree in Mathematics Curriculum & Instruction, and certification in the Science of Reading and 6-8 Mathematics. I currently teach middle school math and have experience teaching students in both rural and urban schools, in classrooms of all sizes.
My goal is to help students truly understand what they're learning, not just memorize procedures. I believe conceptual understanding leads to stronger retention, greater confidence, and the ability to apply knowledge to new situations. As a classroom teacher, one of my strengths is identifying learning gaps and helping students build the strong foundation they need to be successful.
I believe students learn best when lessons are engaging, connected to their everyday lives, and taught by someone who genuinely cares about them as individuals. Every child learns differently, and I enjoy finding the approach that helps each student succeed. I also have a special passion for working with students with ADHD and helping them build strategies that work for their unique learning style.
One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching a student who once doubted themselves realize they are capable of success. Whether your child needs homework help, test preparation, intervention, enrichment, or simply a confidence boost, my goal is to create a supportive learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing as independent learners.
I look forward to partnering with your family and helping your child reach their full potential.
