Hello! My name is Matthew, and I am a first-year medical student with a strong passion for teaching and mentoring. Over the past several years, I’ve worked as a certified Starbucks Coffee Master and barista trainer, a private tutor in math and organic chemistry, and as a medical scribe at the Cancer Center of Kansas in Wichita. These experiences taught me not only subject mastery, but also how to break down complex ideas into approachable, meaningful steps. I’ve guided students through high school math all the way to advanced college-level chemistry, and I understand how to adapt my style to meet learners exactly where they are. Having returned to school myself after several years in the workforce, I also know firsthand the challenges of relearning material, building confidence, and developing effective study habits.

My approach to tutoring is centered on clarity, patience, and encouragement. I believe that the best learning happens when students feel both challenged and supported, so I strive to create an environment where questions are welcome and mistakes are seen as opportunities for growth. Whether you are preparing for the MCAT, strengthening your math foundation, or diving into organic chemistry, my goal is to help you not just memorize facts, but truly understand the concepts so you can apply them with confidence. I tailor each session to the individual student, using a mix of explanation, practice problems, and real-world examples to reinforce learning. Most importantly, I want my students to walk away not only with stronger grades and test scores, but also with the skills to think critically and learn independently.

If you’re looking for a tutor who will meet you at your level, help you build strong problem-solving strategies, and cheer you on through the learning process, I would love to work with you.
