Hello! I'm Kayla and I am passionate about helping students build both skills and confidence in their learning. As an educational sign language interpreter, I have experience working with elementary and middle school students, including those with ADHD and autism.
I have worked one on one with students for several years and have worked in education for 10 years.
I understand that each student learns differently, so I tailor my approach to meet individual needs—breaking concepts into manageable steps and using visual, structured strategies to support understanding. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel confident, capable, and successful.
I have a strong background in supporting students who need help with focus, redirection, and organization. I incorporate strategies that keep students actively involved in the lesson while also building independence and accountability over time. I strive to meet students where they are and help them make meaningful progress at their own pace.
Communication is also a key part of my approach. I work to build positive relationships with both students and families, ensuring that expectations are clear and progress is consistent. I believe that when students feel supported and understood, they are more willing to take risks, ask questions, and grow.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine patience, structure, and adaptability to meet a wide range of learning needs. I bring real classroom experience, a strong understanding of diverse learners, and a commitment to helping each student succeed—not just academically, but in their confidence as a learner.
