I was born and raised in Virginia and attended undergraduate and graduate school in the state. My degrees have been in Education as a teacher and educational leader. Over the last thirty years, I have been an educator at some level, working internationally and most recently in the United States. Internationally, I have worked in Mexico, Costa Rica, Oman, Singapore, and Indonesia. While in Oman, Wilkes University from the state of Pennsylvania began an international doctoral program; I had the privilege to be part of the first international cohort. Since my graduation in 2016, I have continued my relationship with the School of Education at Wilkes, teaching hybrid classes at the master's and doctoral levels.

What has served me well in working with students of all ages for the last 3 decades is my ability to for positive relationships with those with whom I work. I take the time to know who my students are outside of the classroom in terms of their likes and dislikes, as well as learning about their goals. This is done in a very genuine and authentic manner. I truly care for my students and strive to do all I can to meet their needs and help them thrive.

I also utilize both formal and informal assessments to discover what the student knows about a certain topic or to understand their skill level in whatever area we are trying to improve. Meeting students "where they are" ensures that the lessons and education are planned to match each individual student’s needs and help them continue to grow.
