Hi there, my name is Alex! I hold a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from The Ohio State University, where my work focused on advanced preclinical and molecular research in oncology. I have extensive training in biology, genetics, experimental design, scientific writing, data analysis, and communicating concepts in clear and concise ways. As a scientist at KUMC, my daily life revolves around biological foundations of humans.

I have several years of experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students both in the classroom and laboratory. This includes guiding students through research projects, exam and graduate school preparation, and general test prep. I have many years of tutoring undergraduate students in general biology, chemistry, genetics, and other specialized fields. My personal approach to tutoring involves explanations of difficult concepts followed by applying this knowledge to practice problems and relation to real-world events.

I have multiple publications and presentation awards. My style is patient and tailored to each student’s needs. Whether supporting coursework, exam prep, or general skill-building, my goal is to help students truly understand the material and feel confident in their academic abilities. I have experience teaching students from high school to graduate student age.
