Hi, my name is Tristan and I am a former college Mathematics instructor. I have a Master’s of Arts degree in Mathematics and an undergraduate Bachelor’s of Science degree in Applied Mathematics. I was previously employed as a collegiate-level Mathematics instructor for five years. Being an instructor has given me extensive experience in creating lectures and lesson plans both for class and individuals needing extra instruction. Additionally, part of being an instructor included holding “office hours.” This is when students could stop by my office and I would tutor and provide individualized help with specific questions they had. I have taught classes and provided private tutoring in a range of subjects from Beginning Algebra, College Algebra, Pre-calculus, Calculus II, Calculus III and everything in between. My students have been homeschool, high-school, college, and non-traditional students.

I would describe my tutoring style as “down to earth and logical.” I believe in the importance of working example problems. Showing each step helps students learn the how’s and why’s to Mathematics. I’m happy to create mini-lessons with problems in any particular area you need more help. We can also work problems and I can share my insights into the amazing subject that is Mathematics. I love Mathematics and helping others love it too (even if they don’t right now). I truly believe anyone can learn Mathematics; it may just take the right teacher.
