I have worked in corporate America with a Fortune 300 Company for over 30 years, providing me a wide range of experiences in accounting, finance, economics, and marketing.

I have learned the best way to learn is to teach. In my approach, I provide an environment where the student turns into the teacher by the end of the sessions.

To highlight this, I am an adjunct instructor at the University of Phoenix teaching Corporate Accounting, Corporate Finance and Personal Finance.

As a manager in the work force, and as an instructor, I have learned each employee/student is different and you have to find what turns the button on to motivate the student/employee. Each person learns differently; therefore, I try as many different ways to see what connects. There are 4 learning styles (Visual-Verbal, Visual-non verbal, Tactile-Kinesthetic, Auditory-Verbal). Which of your 5 senses do you use to learn?

This is why I like the tutoring arrangement. It offers the opportunity for 1:1 focused learning. There are times when a group is good, but this allows your student to get the added lift he/she needs to enable his/her success.

My approach is to be persistent and find the learning style, and make learning fun. A student, like an employee, learns best when self-motivated. If all I am doing is getting them to check the box, there is little long term value in that for the instructor and student.

As a father of 4, I have seen the road each of my own children have gone in their learning process. Each of them is different. I don't have the answers to everything, but I know that with persistence and unconditional love, it is very cool and rewarding to see the light bulb go off and watch their maturation.

I think I can do the same for my students.

I look forward to helping you/your student achieve their learning goals, and provide not only a "check the box/pass the test" experience, but a life skill around the passion for learning.

Business,

Business

I have over 30+ years working for a Fortune 300 Company, being exposed to all parts of the business. My areas of expertise are accounting, finance, marketing, economics, business development and process improvement. I start with the philosophy of you cannot manage what you do not measure. Accounting and other metrics are important. I use these to analyze results and then to predict the future with cash flow analysis required in finance.
Econometrics,

Econometrics

I have over 30+ years working for a Fortune 300 Company, being exposed to all parts of the business. My areas of expertise are accounting, finance, marketing, economics, business development and process improvement. In my working experience I must establish econometric models to evaluate the value derived from various marketing programs and, or business cases. This requires the ability to understand data, establishing a hypothesis, and then performing the study and then analyzing the data to draw conclusions about the success or failure of a project. I look forward to sharing this knowledge with students using real application vs. theory in a text book.
Finance,

Finance

I have taught Accounting and Finance for 10+ years at the University of Phoenix. I have applied my learning in both my work experience for 38+ years, and I always use it for managing my personal finances I am a MBA from Rockhurst University majoring in Accounting and Finance I am a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) -- CMA's look at the business with the internal lens to help the Company grow; CPA's focus on the rules and the external requirements. You only can improve and grow from where you are at today so Finance is critical for applying tools on how to improve future results.

In my education and in my work experience, I have been a learner that applied accounting and finance. I teach these disciplines, along with personal finance, at the University of Phoenix. Marketing,

Marketing

I have over 30+ years working for a Fortune 300 Company, being exposed to all parts of the business. In my work, I promote the 8 P's of marketing, although the textbooks only talk to 4. The first two are strategy related. Who are the people you want as customers and what position do you want to compete on. You compete on cost, quality, or product differentiation. Then, it is the well known 4 P's, that I believe need to be thought through sequentially. First, it is product. What product lines up with your strategy? Then, it is the price you charge that lines up with strategy. After that, how do you plan to promote the product? Lastly, how do you plan to distribute (place) your product? The next two deal with execution. What are your policies (credit and collection dealing with the customer)? The last one is processes. How do your processes support your product? I believe with my extensive background in supporting the marketing organizations, I can share my knowledge and enable a student's success.
Tax Accounting,

Tax Accounting

I recently completed the H&R Block Training and am preparing for seasonal work with them in the pursuit of it growing to other opportunities. I have always had a passion for taxes; I work to hard to earn it, and want to make sure I "avoid" but never "evade" tax liabilities. This coupled with teaching Personal Finance at the University of Phoenix illustrate my strong interest in this area. Taxes are part of the overall financial planning process, and more importantly, the personal "accounting" that I am finding most individuals do not undertake.

He is patient and thorough, making sure that you become confident with the material and can explain how to solve the problems. With Randy's tutoring, I felt significantly more confident going into my exam and did better on this most recent exam than any previous exams.

Would Recommend

I emailed Randy and he got back to me in a timely manner and set up an appointment. He helped me prepare for a test in a college (300/junior) level finance course and had a thorough understanding of the course material. He uses great examples to clarify and explains in understandable terms and he is very familiar with the formulas, tables, and other methods of solving the equations. Also very easy to get along with.

Excellent Tutor

I would highly recommend Randy for tutoring. He is extremely knowledgeable in the area of accounting. Randy was able to break down the material for Managerial Accounting at KU for my son to earn an A so far. He had extra online materials to help simplify & strengthen the tutorial lesson. Randy was good at boosting confidence when my son seemed to be overwhelmed with this class.

Great accounting tutor.

Randy is a good and attentive tutor that takes care of his students' needs. I did feel more confident after one session and looking forward to many sessions on my road to get my CPA. He is definitely worth the money spent, there are tutors who are lower in price but his expertise and ability surpass the rest. If you are an accounting student like me HE IS THE WAY TO GO. Trust me.
