Physiology and Biology Tutor

I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology, as well as a PhD in Physiology. My primary area of expertise is skeletal muscle physiology, but my educational background has me well-versed in general human physiology. I can also help with related concepts such as genetics. Public access databases such as Pubmed help me stay current on new developments in physiology, and ensure that my material is always up-to-date.

My teaching background includes teaching undergraduate-level physiology as well as small-group tutoring and one-on-one associated with the same class. I also have experience with giving departmental seminars to audiences with a breadth of experience, ranging from high school students to professors. I have mentored several undergraduates and one graduate student.

My approach to helping other people understand a subject is understanding their educational needs, which includes both their level of mastery as well as the kind of presentation that works best for them. As a person with a life-long disability that has impacted every segment of my life including education, I am also empathetic to those who require additional considerations in their learning mode.
