Hi! I'm Lia, a Statistics and Data Science student at Kansas State University with a strong academic background in math and related subjects. Hi! I'm Lia, a Statistics and Data Science student at Kansas State University with a strong academic background in math and related subjects. I graduated high school with a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a 4.69 weighted GPA and have continued taking college-level mathematics and statistics courses. I'm interested in tutoring students in math as well as elementary-level subjects, and I enjoy finding simple, understandable ways to explain concepts that may initially feel confusing.
While I am new to tutoring professionally, I have experience helping my brother and my friends with schoolwork. When I help someone understand a problem, I like to work through it step by step rather than simply giving them the answer. I try to figure out which part is causing confusion, explain it in a different way if needed, and then let them practice applying the idea themselves. I'm patient and am always happy to go over something more than once.
My goal is to create a comfortable environment where students feel like they can ask questions without being embarrassed or afraid of getting something wrong. I want students to leave a session not only knowing how to complete the problem in front of them, but also feeling more confident approaching similar problems independently. I’m happy to adapt each session around the student’s current classwork, homework, learning style, and individual goals.
