I am a middle school Special Education teacher with experience working with students in grades K–12. Much of my background includes teaching small, pull-out groups focused on IEP goal attainment. I have also co-taught in Math, English, and Social Studies classrooms at the secondary level (grades 6–12).
I specialize in adapting curriculum to meet diverse learning needs and enjoy working in small-group or one-on-one settings. My areas of support include math, English, social studies, and functional/life skills.
My tutoring approach is individualized, structured, and explicit, using systematic instruction grounded in the science of reading and other evidence-based practices. I begin by assessing each student’s strengths, current skill level, and areas of need to guide instruction.
To support student success, I incorporate strategies such as visual supports, chunking, repetition, and extended processing time. These supports help students access content, build confidence, and make meaningful progress toward their academic goals.
I also believe that communication is key. I provide regular progress updates and maintain consistent communication with both students and families. Ongoing check-ins help guide instructional decisions and ensure we are meeting each student’s needs effectively.
