I am a certified K-6 teacher that has taught first grade the last 2 years. I have had many education related jobs as I went back to school for my degree. I have worked as a para professional, camp director, ran before and after school program for the YMCA, and an educator at Science City at Union station and the planetarium.

I love working with students of all abilities, finding areas of growth and a creative way to help students comprehend and retain information. I love developing a professional relationship with my students and learning about their motivation to apply to their work.

I have attended conferences to dive deeper into curriculum and present new techniques to school staff. Through use of manipulatives and visuals, I develop strategies for my students to succeed.

Science is my true passion. I love all things science and learned how to communicate it to every age range while being an educator at a local science museum.

Proficient in the foundations of reading and skills needed to help readers understand and reflect on their reading. Reading is the gateway to learning!

I have experience teaching phonics and study skills to be successful learners. I struggled with organization and study skills as a student, and have learned numerous effective strategies.
