I currently tutor English, American Literature, US Government, pre-Algebra, and 7th grade Math at Regina Caeli Academy located in Overland Park, Kansas, USA.

I have TWO degrees, one in Business Administration, and the other in Social Psychology.

I am well versed in a plethora of subjects, namely, English, Reading Comprehension, Basic Accounting Principles, Elementary Math, and American History.

I have recently earned my credentials from Oxford Seminars to teach English to non-native...

I am willing to travel to any public library in Johnson County that offers free study rooms, or meet online through Wyzant. I am available from 9am to 8pm on weekdays, except Monday or Thursday, and 10am to 6pm on weekends.

I have played chess for the past 35 years. I have learned that chess is a game of balance while preserving sufficient key pieces to achieve a checkmate, or at least, to force an anti-climactic stalemate. I would begin any tutoring session with the basics, accompanied with sufficient practice time to better hone the student's skills. If a student was interested in tournament play, I would then employ books written by or about some of the great chess masters, such as Kasparov, Karpov and Fischer (to name a few) and assign chapters to be read and key points to be discussed during each tutoring session.

I am a substitute teacher for the Lee's Summit, Kansas City and North Kansas City school districts. I have passed WyzAnt's qualification tests in Elementary Math, English, grammar, spelling, vocabulary and American History, among others. And I am in the process of getting certified to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL).

I have a strong foundation in statistics, having completed a formal course in Probability & Statistics as well as a research-focused statistics course in psychology. My tutoring experience in intermediate math has allowed me to reinforce and apply core principles of probability and statistics in practical problem-solving contexts. I specialize in using the Socratic method to guide students toward deeper understanding, encouraging critical thinking and active participation. This approach not only helps students grasp complex concepts but also builds their confidence in applying statistical reasoning.
