Hey everyone, I am a student at KU studying philosophy for Pre-Law. I am currently a speech and debate coach with several students from all across the country. I teach primarily traditional or “Lay” debate and I had personal success locally in Missouri and nationally at the NSDA national tournament.
The events I teach are the following: LD, PF, Extemp Debate, Congress, USX, IX, and OO. I had personal success at every single one of these events. I qualified to state or nationals in each of the debate events and in USX. I had success making it late in the state or national tournament in LD, USX, and Extemp debate. I am a district champion in USX and district finalist in Congress and LD.
But all of that is in the past and my passion now is for helping other achieve success. I focus most on critical thinking skills and a slow/clear speaking style. These are the traits that worth noting but no matter what skill level you are seeking tutoring for, I can give you the skills necessary to win. From 6th graders who just started to senior who are trying to make their last year count I have seen it all and had success at each of these levels. The students I spoke of have had success in regional middle school tournament, regional high school novice tournaments, and success at regional high school varsity tournaments. This success comes in the events of LD, PF, Extemp debate, USX, and IX.
I've taught one on one as well as entire teams. I also can help with more administrative items as well, like helping run a tournament or the tab room for a tournament as well as judge for a team if need be. I am doing this in my free time because I love to coach debate and I would love the opportunity to work with you!
