Reading Specialist with a focus on intervention and Dyslexia.

As a certified ELA teacher, I have worked with students of all levels in Reading and Language Arts. I served 9 years in the classroom as an English Language Arts teacher where I worked with middle school and high school students and also served as ESOL Coordinator. I currently work as a Reading Specialist and Interventionist for grades K-8. In addition, since 2019,I have worked with students one-on-one online, helping them to overcome their struggles with reading.

I obtained my bachelor’s at the University of Kansas and earned my certification as an ELA teacher in Missouri and Kansas. I then was able to focus on ESOL studies and received an endorsement for ESL on my license. Currently, I am earning my Master’s degree as a Reading Specialist with a focus on Dyslexia Therapy at Kansas State University.

These varied field experiences have allowed me to develop expertise in the following areas:

-Working with students to help them excel in language arts skills.
-Engaging students using traditional as well as the latest technologies.
-Designing unique and interesting lesson plans to tailor to individual student needs.

I have a passion for helping students who struggle, I feel it is my calling!
