Hi, I am Holli! I graduated from Pittsburg State University with a degree in Elementary Education, where I developed a strong foundation in child development, instructional strategies, and differentiated learning. During my time there, I was trained to support diverse learners across all elementary subject areas. I also earned certification in Adaptive Schools, which strengthened my ability to collaborate effectively, facilitate meaningful discussions, and create supportive learning environments that meet the needs of every student.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have five years of tutoring experience using the Heggerty phonemic awareness curriculum to strengthen early literacy skills. Through this work, I have supported students in building foundational reading skills with confidence and consistency. I also specialize in working with special education students and have extensive experience supporting a diverse group of learners with varying academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. I am committed to meeting each child where they are and providing individualized strategies that promote growth and success.
I have been a certified teacher for 14 years, primarily working with second through fourth graders. Throughout my career, I have taught in multiple classroom settings, including co-teaching environments, combined grade-level classrooms, and resource push-in models. These experiences have strengthened my ability to collaborate with colleagues, differentiate instruction effectively, and adapt lessons to meet a wide range of learning needs. My goal is not only to help students master academic skills, but also to build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
