Hello, my name is Mrs. Jenkins, I love teaching and can’t wait to work with amazing students! A little bit about me is I taught 5th grade for 6 years and have been tutoring for 3 years. I have tutored online for Elementary Math and Reading. I also tutored students online all over the U.S. including Texas and California. I have started my own in person tutoring business locally and have worked with Preschool through 8th grade in Reading and Math.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education at Kansas State University in 2019. I also received my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Emporia State University in 2022. Through my master degree courses, I have learned how to create standard based assessments and I use it to personalize resources to fit each student's needs. I am also a licensed teacher for Kindergarten through 6th grade.
I have experience tutoring online in small groups and one on one. For in person, I have taught in a whole classroom setting, small group, and one on one. I have worked with students from many different backgrounds including special needs and English language learners. I like to incorporate education games occasionally to create engagement and fun with learning! I also love to take time to get to know the student's interests to use in learning as well.
I truly love helping students thrive and be successful in the classroom and beyond. That is why I have created my own tutoring business, so I can give students more of what they need. As the quote says "Every student can succeed with a little help." I know that tutoring can be the difference!
