I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with extensive coursework in biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy, and physiology, and I am currently pursuing a Texas teaching certification while tutoring students in the Frisco ISD area during my gap year before medical school. At UT Austin, I served as a teaching assistant for seven semesters across four different professors and taught both lecture and laboratory courses. My teaching experience included working with students from a variety of academic and language backgrounds, including three laboratory courses where I regularly helped students who spoke languages other than English. I have also provided one-on-one tutoring to UT students in biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy, and physiology.
My teaching approach is centered on making difficult material understandable, engaging, and memorable. I particularly enjoy finding creative ways to explain concepts rather than relying solely on memorization, using analogies, humor, visual explanations, practice problems, and real-world examples to help students understand the "why" behind what they are learning. Having personally experienced the challenges of staying engaged with traditional teaching methods, I am especially attentive to adapting explanations and activities to different learning styles and attention spans. Whether working one-on-one or in a classroom/laboratory setting, I focus on creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence in their abilities.
