Hi I'm Adi! I am currently an undergraduate in Biology at Purdue University. Although my background is in science, I have an extensive background in tutoring math to students of all ages. I have worked for Kumon and for Varsity Tutors, as well as tutored through the Carmel High School math peer tutoring program. In total, I have 6 years of tutoring experience. For Kumon, I tutored there for 1 year, but I was also a student of its English and math program, even having completed the English program and went up to Level L for the math program. At Carmel High School, I was in the peer tutoring program for 2 years and even earned a Class award for my tutoring efforts. Lastly, I worked for Varsity Tutors for 3 years and tutored many students in varying levels of math, from elementary math all the way up to Algebra 2. I also have tutored English for standardized testing.
I know how difficult it can be for a student to grasp information because I have been that student. I know what it is like to feel like you are putting in all of the work and it seems like the results aren't good enough. I can help you overcome that challenge. My tutoring method is tailor made for each student. In the initial session, I take some time to figure out what learning method best suits the student. Each student learns differently, so I want to help each student learn in a way that they can understand the material. Once I have figured that part out, I then use my teaching style to help the students out. I first work the problems out until the student feels like they understand the material. I then have them walk me through the problem. Then they solve it on their own!
I also have experience working with individuals with varying kinds of disabilities.
