I have been tutoring all across the United States since 1988 when I was an undergrad chemistry major at University of New Mexico. I have tutored face to face and online. I have taught at University of Kansas, University of Kentucky, Georgetown College in Kentucky, Bluegrass Community College, Highland Community College, and now I am a professor at Purdue University in Indiana in statistics. Organic chemistry is one of my favorite subjects - I excel at synthesis and mechanisms which are typical exam questions.

I have tutored and taught chemistry at the high school and college level for many years. I have a PhD in chemistry education from the University of Kansas and feel very comfortable with chemistry at the high school level and any freshmen or introductory class in college. I am very familiar with many online chemistry homework systems including Mastering Chemistry, Sapling, Wiley Plus, and ACE Organic.

My students have been from several high schools in Kentucky, Centre College, Transylvania U., Morehead State, Georgetown College, University of Kentucky and Purdue. Most of my students are pre-professional students - premed, pre-vet, pre-pharm, etc.

I received my MPH in Biostatistics in 2017 from University of Kentucky and have taken several graduate classes in statistics. I am proficient in SPSS.

I really enjoy the one-on-one interaction with students and think it provides a great framework for learning. I promise to be punctual as well as ready for our lesson. My goal is that at the end of the lesson, you walk away feeling that you got your money's worth and feel more confident in your coursework.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Approved Subjects

Biochemistry

Biochemistry

I have taken several biochemistry courses, most recently BCH 401G at University of Kentucky as a refresher. This is the introductory biochemistry course that all students going into professional schools must take. The course covers basics of biochemistry, enzymes and kinetics, metabolism, and transcription and translation.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I have both a bachelor's degree and Ph.D. in chemistry. I have taken freshmen chemistry, organic chemistry, quantitative analysis, physical chemistry, and instrumental analysis. My PhD in chemistry involved taking graduate chemistry courses in organic chemistry, biochemistry, synthesis, mechanisms, as well as spectroscopy. I also taught both general chemistry labs and organic labs at the university level. I am an instructor for general chemistry and organic chemistry at a community college.
MCAT

MCAT

I took the new MCAT in June of 2017 and scored in the 95% in the Chem/Phys section. I have retaken physics and biochemistry to refresh my knowledge in these areas. I can help you with a study schedule, how to approach the questions, and figure out a target score. I have started tutoring students and my first student just received a 517 on her first try.
Organic Chemistry

Organic Chemistry

I have a Ph.D. in chemistry - I took undergraduate organic chemistry to get my bachelor's degree in chemistry. I also took several graduate classes in organic chemistry as well as teaching organic lab while I was a graduate student.

Very patient, great tutor!!

Christina is a wonderful, wonderful tutor! She is extremely patient and is able to explain things in many different ways so that you really understand. She specifically helped me with organic 2 - I ended up achieving a B!! She is very flexible with meeting times and was able to meet a bit longer near the exams to make sure I really understood all of the material. She was able to break everything down for me and teach me what I needed to know. I'm not that great at taking exams, but she gave me the confidence I desperately needed! I highly suggest Christina for organic - both 1 and 2! She is amazing at what she does! :)

Patient Tutor

Christina has helped me catch up and does an excellent job of deciphering chemistry for me. I still feel the need for her help, but the proof will be in my test results.

Strong Ochem tutor.

Helped me not only understand the problems but the concepts behind them. I always have productive sessions when working with this tutor.

Very patient

I used Christina for a 10-wk graduate level bio-statistics course. I was so incredibly confused and frustrated with the course material! I literally did not understand hardly any of it! Christina listened to me and was able to explain everything to me slowly and in a way I could understand. She was able to incorporate the material into real world examples for me, which helped immensely! I used Christina for tutor sessions 1-2 times each week during my biostats course. She took each of our sessions seriously, was prepared, and managed the scheduled time appropriately. I just took my final exam last night and I think I will end up with an A in the course! Thank you Christina for the patience and all the assistance!

patient and helpful.

Christina helped me work through homework problems while explaining the parts where I was stuck. She also refreshed my memory of the older material and cleared certain topic up for me in order to help move on to the more advanced material.

Excellent tutor and resourceful

Dr. Christina was very helpful explaining binomial distributions and interpreting p-values in various biostatistical conceptual contexts. She provided me various quality additional resources to help me study for my biostatistical final exam. If you're looking for a professional with statistics experience and knowledge that will put their best effort forward to help you succeed, she is the tutor for you
